St. Bernard incumbent judges all sign up Wednesday to seek re-election Nov.

During the first day of qualifying in St. Bernard Parish for the Nov. 4
election, all four remaining incumbent judges in the 34th Judicial District
Court qualified for their seats.

Division C Judge Perry Nicosia resigned from his post on Tuesday in order to
run for district attorney.

Kim Cooper Jones, of Meraux, and Darren Roy, of Chalmette, both had
qualified by midday Wednesday for that now-vacant Division C seat.

These judges qualified to seek re-election:

Robert "Bob" A. Buckley, of Meraux, Division A.
Jeanne Nunez Juneau, of Chalmette, Division B.
Kirk Andrew Vaughn, of Chalmette, Division D.
Jacques A. Sanborn, of Chalmette, Division E.
Juneau became the first female judge in St. Bernard's history when she edged
out Jones in October for the judicial seat vacated by Manuel "Manny"
Fernandez, who retired in May 2013. Fernandez died this past February.

These additional candidates qualified Wednesday in other St. Bernard races.
