A Walgreens employee in Chalmette was booked Tuesday on charges of armed
robbery and aggravated kidnapping for helping to plan and orchestrate an
attempted robbery of that store on Monday (Aug. 25), according the St.
Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.

Quinita "Peaches'' Harris, 30, an employee since May of the Walgreens at the
corner of Judge Perez Drive and Paris Road, was not physically at the store
when two men attempted to rob it and herd a customer and two employees into
a back room, according to the Sheriff's Office.

But sheriff's detectives learned that Gibson was living with one of the men
in Chalmette at the time and believe that she planned the robbery attempt
with them, according to Sheriff Jimmy Pohlmann.

The two men who authorities said attempted to rob the store, Leonard Gibson,
43, and Ben Amos, 27, both of Gretna, were booked Monday morning on armed
robbery and aggravated kidnapping charges after the incident at the store.

Gibson also was booked on charges of possession of a stolen gun and
possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as he was carrying a revolver
that had been reported stolen in Texas, the sheriff said.

Both men were being held Tuesday afternoon in parish jail, Gibson in lieu of
a $600,000 bond and Amos in lieu of a $500,000 bond.

A third man, who dropped the two men off in the planned getaway vehicle, was
still being sought by sheriff's officials on Tuesday, according to the
Sheriff's Office.

Pohlmann said on Monday that an employee managed to call the Sheriff's
Office about 4:30 a.m. Monday as the robbery was in progress. No one was
injured and the only item stolen was a cell phone from an employee, which
was recovered, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The men had bandanas covering over their faces, and they each wore gloves
and used wraps to try and tie up the three victims, according to the
Sheriff's Office.
