Goody's Sno-Balls Celebrates 50 Years in St. Bernard Parish

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held in Chalmette

Goody's Sno-Balls has been in St. Bernard Parish since 1965. Owners Curt
and Brandy Calegan kicked off the 50th Year Celebration with half price
sno-balls, a DJ and more. Joining the celebration was Parish President David
Peralta, Councilmembers Guy Mc Innis, Richie Lewis, and Casey Hunnicutt.
Also present were State Representative Ray Garofalo, Chamber President Cindi
Meyer and Chamber Director Stephen Reuther.

The original owners were Al and Goody Ricaurd. The Ricauards operated the
business for 37 years before selling it to Mona Fincher and Tanya Mc Cormick
in 2002. Ms. Fincher and Ms. Mc Cormic continued to operate it until they
sold it to its current owners in 2014.

Goody's offers a variety of flavors and has plans to offer soft serve ice
cream. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 2:00 to 8:00
p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 p.m. You can check
Goody's out at 2229 Palmisano Boulevard in Chalmette. Photos by Lenor
