Hello all! It's been quiet at the Talbert Pipes site for a while, but I've been busy with a lot of preparatory work on the pipes that I'll be posting from now till New Year's. First up, the Ligne Bretagne Fat Dwarves are back! I haven't made any of these for a couple of years due to not having the materials for them (They require extra-large stem material), but I finally got my hands on some stock so look for a minor deluge of Dwarves over the next couple of weeks. There are five up now for sale:

A couple of these have expansion-style reverse-calabash shanks. The Fat Dwarves are really the only Ligne Bretagne stummels that have large enough shanks for this to work (except for our Oom-Pauls), so I thought I'd make a couple for this update.
The BIG news is that the first Talbert Yule Pipe is also posted… on Ebay!

I've had a new special stamp made for my Yule Pipes, finally, which I'll be using from 2013 onwards. I'll also probably make this bleached-bone, off-white finish exclusive to the Yule Pipes each year (and maybe a Halloween pipe or two) - I think it looks quite nice coupled with a silver band and black stem. This first Yule Pipe, however, has a faux ivory stem, for a very "Classical Christmas" look. Curious folks can get a look at the new Yule Pipe stamping here:

Why Ebay? It's something I'm trying as an experiment. I have been very leery of Ebay over the years, and am hyper-cautious of the scam artists that seem to populate the place. However, over the course of recent years and especially the last several months for some reason, I've been getting more and more complaints about the site not having stock available - "By the time I got to your site, everything was already sold!" is the common message. To try and counter this fast selling issue, I thought I would try posting this year's Talbert Yules on Ebay - That way, they're guaranteed to be there and available for the period of their auction, so anyone has a shot at them.
This first pipe's auction period is set for THREE DAYS.
I'm curious to see how this works out. If it's successful, I may post more pipes on Ebay in the future. If it turns out to be more bother than it's worth, I'll return to selling only via our site. Consider this a test run. As always, thanks VERY much for your time and for your interest in our work, and I hope everyone is having a great November and a nice start to the crazy holiday season!
Happy Smoking,
Trever Talbert
