Hey Gene,
If you are going to model the Abingdon Branch in N scale, then consider the mid-60's through 1977. Atlas makes a good looking and great running GP9 and Life-like has the ole GP18. Cabin cars are (or were) made by Atlas, though maybe not totally correct, but are great considering N scale. Not much available for the steam era.

So I've settled on N-scale for the Abingdon Branch.

Quick question: Did any Y's, A's, or J's operate on the branch? I think I
remember reading that they were too heavy to go over the bridges.

I'm debating on the era so far, I'm probably going to do transition as I like
1st/2nd Generation diesels almost as much as steam.

I was showing my wife the OWL photos of the branch in late steam and she likes
the "rural" aspect of the line, I also think that it has great potential to be
done in a modular style "shelf" layout for portability.

Look forward to working out the track plan in the next few months and getting
started on a module hopefully this summer.

Thanks.
Gene
