[StBernard] AP Reports 14 dogs found shot in St. Bernard

NEW ORLEANS More than a dozen dogs have been found dead in St. Bernard
Parish.

Police found ten dogs shot at a building recently used as the PGT Beauregard
Middle School. Another four dogs were found shot at Sebastien Roy elementary
school.

Police are investigating whether the animals were euthanized by their
owners, or shot by military personnel, who may have killed the animals if
they became vicious when approached.

Some of the dogs were found with their heads covered.

Pasado's Safe Haven, a Washington State animal rescue organization, is
offering a 10-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the
conviction of those responsible for the shootings.

A pregnant female dog was found alive. She had given birth to three puppies
while locked in a stairwell. The mother and her puppies are fine.
