Leanie,

I think you will be ok. We should really know something by the end of
January about the Baker Bill, if not sooner. Also, even if you do not sign
up, it just means that you will be placed into a specific follow up process
for "blighted" property in order for us to track properties and the progress
being made. The time frame will work with the individuals and the specific
needs. Again the real push is for people who have not made a decision but
can make a decision to do so.

Another thought is to move the deadline back, but once the deadline is
passed not allow for the demolition at no charge. We will continue to
discuss this issue at the next meeting.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Craig,
After reading that sign up for property demolition must be done by
January 31, 2006, I am getting more worried about what to do about my
property as well as my mother's. It's not feasible for us to return and
rebuild. I think there is a timing issue here, in that I'm not sure whether
to wait and see what goes with the Baker Act or if I should sign up for
demolition. If I wait for passage of the Act (I have not idea of when this
would be), will I miss the demolition sign up date? If I sign up for
demolition, would I possibly loose out financially because the house is no
longer there? Any insight would be grateful! Thanks
Leanie
