Deborah,

The ironic part is that we have assisted this process with contributions
from contractors on the ground more than the church's hired help. I am not
aware of any specific plan, but this will come up once we begin evaluating
properties.

Has there been any comment from the Archdiocese of N.O. regarding when they
might begin cleanup of the debris at the dormant churches/schools many of
which are in midst of residential neighborhoods? Not only should the Arch.
be a good neighbor, but it's terribly depressing to parishoners and school
children to see their former parish in this state with practically nothing
done to cleanup the grounds even after SIX months. To a Catholic, church and
school grounds are sacred places and seeing them "abandoned" and trashed
makes us feel abandoned, no matter how much food Catholic Charities is
giving out or that OLPS is somewhat functioning or that HHS is across the
lake. There's food for the stomach and food for the soul, and it would go a
long way if the Arch made an attempt to clean up the grounds of these
properties to feed our spirits.
