Hmmm, don't know if this is "true" , but if it is, there's going to be a
lot of explaining to do. Makes you wonder if we have the right people for
recovery, huh? We'll see, if the story's right. There were also rumors of
the FEDS moving in as they have in Kenner, Metairie, New Orleans. This is
going to be interesting to see if anyone benefited pre-and-post-Katrina..

FEMA. A reply stated this:

You are NOT waiting on FEMA, you are waiting on St Bernard Parish
Government.

Here's the story:
FEMA has released money to the State of LA to pay Unified Recovery Group,
but the State will not pay the Parish of St Bernard. Why you ask?

After the storm, the State paid St Bernard 31 million dollars being in a
state of emergency.

The Parish can not account for use of funds of that 31 million and the State
is refusing to release the next payment until the Parish can account for the
first 31 million.

It is not FEMA's fault, or the State's fault that URG ceased oiperations. It
is the Parish Government's fault!

Danny Mennesses, Parish CEO, and Larry Ingargolia, OEP Director, can not
account for the money.

Between the Parish and the Sheriff's Office the money is missing.

Once again, it is another gross mismanagement of funding by the Parish. When
will the public officials be held accountable for their actions- stealing of
the public's money!

I do not blame the State in the least for holding out on the next payment!

So Craig, what's the scoop? Is our accounting dept. or whatever from Orleans
Parish?
