It is a very convoluted system.  The numbers do not corrspond to the
elevation and the A zones do not correspond to other parishes as well.
There has been discussion about getting the industry to be consistent, but
to no avail.

If one reads a +1 or so on an A01 area, what does this tell us? Should't
there be a chart that simplifies it for us?

It looks like a "1 Ft." above elevation in a decent flood-zone area, but
it's not a sure thing to be known, especially if we are forced to guess
wrong and need to ..know correctly.
