FEMA has not yet approved the contractor to demolish houses in the oil spill
area- I am hoping that they come to quicker resolution than they did about
picking up debris in the expanded map area. The good news is that a
volunteer group has shown up on the scene to begin demolition assistance
with fewer limitations. There is a story coming out in the TP today and
should have a contact number as well. If FEMA uses the same rule to allow
debris from demolition as they have in the expanded area it should be a no
brainer in that if there is visible oil then the debris is Murphy's
responsibility but once cleaned then it should be cleared for demolition.

Look for the contact number in the story- if you can't find it, let me know.
I am sure Westley will post it before I get back to my office.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

If a home is in the "MURPHY OIL SPILL ZONE" and one has signed up to have a
house demolished - will it be done? or is ZONE properties excluded? I
understand they are not emptying out houses in the "ZONE" but am wondering
about demolition. Seems there was also some concern about where to put the
hazardous material.

Thanks and I await your answer.
