MINUTES OF OPERATIONS BRIEFING
Monday, June 12, 2006, 8:00 a.m.

Dave Peralta, Chief Administrative Officer

Present: 25

Emergency Operations: Larry Ingargiola. Not present.

Community Development: Mike Hunnicutt. No report.

Public Works and Water and Sewer: Chris Merkl. No report.
Curry Reports:
1. Residential and State highway pickup continues. BBEC will submit
commercial right of entry forms to Fema today for about 30 - 40 business,
then we can start the pickup at those properties. We expected to get more
once people realize how to get the debris removed.
2. Reported the demolition of 37 homes on Sunday.

Recovery: David Dysart.
1. The Base Camp is up and running, in the process of installing the drywall
at the Willy P. Smith School.

Public Assistance:
Residential: Craig Taffaro. Not present.
Steve Pitts, Fluor: Reports:
1. As of tomorrow Fluor will no longer be delivering trailers into the State
of Louisiana. Last week 800 trailers were released and those will be
delivered unless something comes up with Fema. Fluor expects to be out of
the parish by June 23.
2. The deactivated of trailers will continue with the other three
contractors that were hired by Fema.
Curry: For those residents who have signed up to get their house demolished
and have a Fema trailer on the property one of the new contractors hired by
Fema will be in charge of removing and tagging of that trailer. The
residents will be moved into a group site until the process of demolition is
complete and the debris is picked up and then their trailer is placed back
on their property.
Business: Charles Ponstein. Not present.

Private Non-Profit: Judy Hoffmeister Not present.

Volunteers: Gidget McDougall
1. We had 11 members of the German Council here this past weekend to tour
the parish.
2. This week we will be working with the Louisiana Arts & Cultural tour.

Agriculture/Wildlife and Fisheries: Ricky Melerine. Not present.
Lake Borgne Basin Levee District: Bob Turner. Not present.

Medical: Dr. Bryan Bertucci
1. We are working on getting personnel to operate our machines in the 22 K
building.

EMS: Janie Fuller. Not present.

Public Safety: Sheriff=s Office. Pete Tufaro
1. A list was handed to Dave Peralta of the items (supplies, materials etc)
that the National Guard will supply the parish with in the event of an
emergency.


Fire Department: Armand Buuck.
1. Reported an arson fire on Guerra Drive on Friday and Saturday a fire in a
Fema trailer that was caused by a candle but the fire was put out with no
damage to the trailer.

Environmental Issues:
CDC and DEQ: Wayne Desselle.
1. We have cleaned the site on Aycock Street in Arabi. There are still a few
items that have to be removed.

EPA: No Report
Murphy Oil: Carl Zornes
1. Clean up continues.

Parish Government:
Council: Lynn Dean. Not present.
Parks and Recreation: John Metzler, Jr.
1. This Saturday we started our games and next Saturday we will have games
again, and on the June 19, 2006 the night games will start.
2. We are still in the need of a few things mainly ice and a few basic
things.
External Affairs: No report.
Finance: Geremie Loupe. Not present.
Personnel: Kevin Clark. Not present.
Insurance: Mike Wiltz. Not present.
Long Term Recovery: Marvin LeBlanc. Not present.

General Information:
