Boasso to campaign for levee reforms 
State Sen. Walter Boasso, R-Arabi, isn't a candidate on this fall's election
ballot. But he's going to be traveling the state campaigning anyway.

Boasso will be seeking voter support of a proposed constitutional amendment
consolidating the state's fractured boards that oversee the levee system in
southeast Louisiana.

The issue is on the Sept. 30 ballot.

Boasso's initial stops on what he calls his "levee board reform educational
tour" will be Aug. 9 at the North Ascension Rotary Club in Prairieville,
Aug. 10 at the Baton Rouge Rotary Club and Aug. 11 at the St. Tammany
Afternoon Rotary Club in Slidell. All events begin at noon.
