[StBernard] Village Square

I have a great idea for Village Square. It's only great if the hospital
comes back though. The entire area could become a retirement village. There
could be small houses for the elderly who are capable of living alone, and
apartments for those who prefer apartment style living as well as a nursing
home for the ones who need more intense care. It would have easy access to a
hospital and shopping without running all over the parish. It definitely
would eliminate any criminal element moving back into an area that was
becoming an serious eyesore and it's a great incentive for our elderly
citizens to return to a safe environment. All the houses and apartments
could be equipped with emergency call buttons and there could be staff who
routinely checks in on the residents to make sure they're doing okay. There
would be a commuinty center, activity areas, a park, everything that makes a
great apartment complex but geared toward elderly needs. I discovered a need
for this while trying to place my grandmother. She used to live alone in a
house by Saint Marks. Now we need to find an apartment that she can afford
on her limited income where she can be comfortable. She would be extremely
happy and content in such a place as that retirment community with all the
otehr people to talk to but still keeping her independence. I actually
really love this idea. I only wish I had the resources to do it myself.
