Governor Blanco to make major announcement regarding the State Farm Bayou Classic 


BATON ROUGE-Upon arrival from her economic development trip to New York City, Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco will make a major announcement regarding the 2006 State Farm Bayou Classic. Gov. Blanco will be joined by Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu, New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin, and representatives of the State Farm Bayou Classic, Grambling State University and Southern University.

The State Farm Bayou Classic, the historic gridiron match-up between Grambling State University and Southern University, is the largest predominately African-American sporting event in the nation. It also is the only event of its kind that is broadcast live on network television.
