Mini Exhibition
For Residents, Businesses, Construction Job Seekers in the 9th Ward and St.
Bernard Parish

Nov. 4, 2006 9 AM to 6 PM

As a means of encouraging and implementing the major rebuild and renewal of
the 9th Ward and St. Bernard Parish following the devastation of Hurricane
Katrina and the collapse of the levees, the 9th Ward Contractor Plan Center
of New Orleans will be opening in the lower 9th Ward on November 4, 2006
from 9am to 6pm. The center will assist the home and business owner in
selecting the right contractors and suppliers to meet and match their
reconstruction needs in the 9th Ward and St. Bernard Parish.

Organizations such as Common Ground, ACORN, The Road 2 Home, Louisiana
Housing Finance Agency and private Insurance Claim Settlement Specialist
will be in attendance.

* Residents and business owners will register; and their needs will be
matched with a contractor or supplier as needed.


* The plan center will provide registered contractors with contact
information, phone numbers and other information to the residents. All
contractors must be registered to receive resident and business contact
information.


* Suppliers will present their affordable products to the residents
and business owners. Companies providing new homes, building materials,
cabinets, flooring suppliers, etc. will be on hand to assist the residents.
Insurance and financial services firms will also be in attendance.


* Nonprofit neighborhood support groups will be on hand too. Groups
such as Common Ground, Acorn, Louisiana Housing Finance Agency, Louisiana
the Road Home, funded by HUD, and others will be attending.


* Employment and training information for people that are interested
in jobs in construction or needing training in construction will also be
available.


* Free bus service is available for those who do not have
transportation in the 9th Ward.


* Suppliers, Contractors and other interested groups are invited to
have a booth at the mini exhibition for the price of $300. Exhibition Floor

1. This includes a 8' x 4 ' table, 2 chairs, 20 minutes of conference
room time for private presentations,

2. 1½" x 2" ad in the 9th Ward Contractor Plan Center Newsletter which
will be distributed to over 10,000 residents

Space is limited and proceeds will be used in the support of the plan
center.

Contractors
If you are a contractor and have not registered with the plan center and you
want to participate in assisting the 9th Ward and St. Bernard residents in
their recovery, you must register to receive resident referrals. Visit the

download the form at the bottom of the page and fax the completed form to

9th Ward Contractor Plan Center
The purpose of the 9th Ward Contractor Plan Center is to provide local
contractors access to construction documents and bid notification for any
project in the 9th Ward. The plan center will provide construction
employment and training opportunities, construction opportunities for
contractors, bid documentation, drawings, supplier's information and
available contractors for government, commercial and residential
construction in the rebuilding of the 9th Ward. Private homeowners needing
contractors will also be encouraged to list their contractor needs.

Regular scheduled contractor meetings will help to provide an open forum for
all contractors and primes. Educational, job training and bid estimating
classes will be conducted. Certification and licensing (city, state, SBA and
DOT) are not a requirement for the contractors but are to be encouraged.
Assistance and information for certification and licensing will be available
as will bonding and services information.

Hours and Users
The center normal operating hours are open from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday-Friday
and on Saturdays, from 9am to 3pm. Scheduled meeting space is available for
residents, primes, general contractors, service providers, suppliers and
other groups wishing to reach all minority/non-minority
contractors/suppliers interested in the reconstruction of the 9th Ward.
