Governor Blanco announces appointments to the University of Louisiana System

BATON ROUGE - Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco has appointed Renee A. Lapeyrolerie, Dr. Clyde L. Rougeou, Jr., and Paul G. Aucoin to the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System.

"I am pleased to have these individuals serving on the University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors," Governor Blanco said. "Each of them brings a unique quality to this board. I certainly look forward to working with them as we advocate for higher education in this state."

Renee A. Lapeyrolerie of New Orleans has been appointed to represent the Second Congressional District. She currently serves as the Public Information Officer for the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office and Press Secretary to Criminal Sheriff Marlin N. Gusman. She received her Bachelor's degree from Loyola University. Ms. Lapeyrolerie founded the public relations firm High Note Communications, and has served as a board member for Louisiana Stadium and Exhibition District (Superdome) Commission and Loyola University Alumni Association and currently serves on the board of Voices in the Dark Theater Company.

Dr. Clyde L. Rougeou of New Iberia is a graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and the LSU School of Dentistry-New Orleans. Among his many contributions to his community, Dr. Rougeou is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, Acadian District Dental Association, and Optimist Club of New Iberia. Dr. Rougeou is the owner of Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in New Iberia.

Paul G. Aucoin of Thibodaux has been in private legal practice in Vacherie since 1971 and has served as a member of the House of Delegates of the Louisiana State Bar Association. He has served as a member and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of St. James Bank and Trust Company. Mr. Aucoin was appointed by the St. James Parish President to serve on the St. James Economic Development Board and elected to the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Housing and Community Development Corporation. He is a graduate of Loyola University and Loyola University School of Law.

Dr. Rougeou and Mr. Aucoin will represent the Third Congressional District.

All terms expire December 31, 2012.
