Call To Action

New Orleans had the nation's attention this past weekend due to a $77
billion claim the City filed with the US Army Corps of Engineers.

This national attention is a good thing. It focuses attention on federal
involvement and wrongdoing in the August 29th Flooding.

But a Levee Commission offers more promise - not just for New Orleans but
for the nation as well. A Levee Commission will address the issue of why
the flooding happened and how to prevent future flooding - everywhere.

A Levee Commission is better because 1) it's cheap, 2) it's fast, can be
done under a year, and 3) no levee work has to stop while the study's going
on.

Sign the petition calling for a Levee Commission.
<http://www.votervoice.net/groups/levees/petition> Send it to everyone
you know!

Each day that passes is another day the nation forgets the pain and loss
that the citizens of metro New Orleans have suffered.

Already signed the petition and still want to help? Collect handwritten
signatures from folks without internet. Download a hardcopy petition
<http://www.levees.org/download> and take it to work, to the gym, your
neighborhood association, anywhere you want.

Click here <http://www.levees.org/download> if you want to collect hardcopy
signatures. Fifteen percent of our petition signers are handwritten
signatures. They are very important!

Help New Orleans and help yourself, too.

Sincerely,
Sandy Rosenthal
