LT. GOV. ANNOUNCES SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu hosted a press conference at Louisiana State
Museum's Old U.S. Mint to announce the first-ever New Orleans Seafood
Festival featuring cooking demonstrations by the very finest French Quarter
chefs.

Free festival events will be staged throughout the weekend of June 8, 9, and
10 at the Old U.S. Mint. For more information click here.

SEAFOOD RIGHT OFF THE BOAT

Ewell Smith of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board (LSPMB)
added that the Festival is serving up a rare treat. Fishermen will be
selling their seafood direct at the Louisiana Fishermen's Village!

Smith reminds everyone to enjoy their favorite seafood dish while in the
Quarter, as restaurants will be serving sensational menu items.


TO CELEBRATE NEW ORLEANS, YOU HAVE TO HAVE MUSIC

Scott Aiges of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation said Louisiana
greats will be performing at the Festival on the music stages: Kermit
Ruffins, Sunpie and the Sunspsots, Tab Benoit, Bruce Daigrepont and many
more.

IT'S GETTING HOTTER!

Chef Tenney Flynn of GW Fins Restaurant was chosen by the governor to
represent Louisiana at the 2007 Great American Seafood Cook-Off.

The nation's most prestigious seafood competition is bigger and bolder this
year. Saturday, August 4 chefs from coast to coast will compete in a cooking
extravaganza.

Sunday, August 5 top-scoring chefs will compete preparing dishes especially
for the busy home cook.

GO FISH GRANTS READY

MarketUmbrella.org is now taking applications for Go Fish grants, start-up
funds for fishing families interested in exploring new markets. The
non-profit organization is targeting fishermen open to selling their catch
direct.

ABOUT US

The Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board was formed by the 1984
Louisiana Legislature. The Board is empowered to take any marketing or
educational action necessary to improve the well being of the seafood
industry -- while maintaining wise management of the state's fishery
resources. The Board is a program funded through the LA Dept. of Wildlife
and Fisheries.
