Ragin' Cajun Jindal stickers still circulate

There apparently are some "Ragin' Cajuns for Jindal" bumper stickers still
floating around Acadiana.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette was unhappy about the use of the
school's nickname in a political campaign. U.S. Rep. Bobby Jindal's
gubernatorial campaign staff agreed last week to stop producing the stickers
and added that the campaign had given out all it had.

But on Friday afternoon, a reporter from The Advocate Acadiana Bureau
visited the Jindal campaign's Lafayette office on Jomela Drive. After
identifying himself as a reporter, he asked about the availability of the
"Ragin' Cajuns for Jindal" stickers.

A campaign worker who refused to give his name told the reporter the
campaign was not "putting them out" anymore, but some were still available
for the asking.

The worker offered to fetch one.

Jindal never answered any of the dozen or so requests during a five-day
period for his take on some of the state's universities asking his campaign
to stop co-opting their colors and mascots to promote his bid for governor.

Jindal's campaign press secretary, Melissa Sellers, said Friday a supporter
showed up at the Lafayette office with a handful of bumper stickers after
reading her comments that the campaign was out.

"There could be a few here or there, but to our knowledge, we were all out
of those," she said.
