[StBernard] Housing ban lands St. Bernard Parish in court again

I don't believe you're wrong IF RENTS start at $280. This amount is about
what they would charge the homeless.

Most rents go for $700-1000+, some for less tha 1200 sq. ft. The parish can
expect new and existing housing to be subsidized section 8 and some coming
to a neighborhood near you. ;(

There doesn't seem to be much outrage about changing the rules, so either
one "sucks it up" and accepts or organizes to fight the good fight. Either
way, expect the worst and look to the better (move out the neighborhood to a
more acceptable one, or (gulp!) away from the community and wait for the
next great surprise people face because of liberal government and more
inequality toward the middle income, hard working people.

There's no question about it. The middle class is shrinking for those who
have been there and the rich and poor classes are squeezing out the middle
class (who is falling to the lower class--ala socialism/communism due to the
rich making the laws that benefit themselves. (have you ever seen rich homes
with gatehouse communities in a ghetto?). There will eventually be but one
class for all (communism) brought on by laws like these that "force" people
to swallow a bitter tasting pill.

Expect it.

It's already begun And God help us.

-----------------------------------------------------
check out the rates for stone bridge apts. how can you have 3 bedroom apts
at 1200sq ft ranging from i think it said $280-$900 if it is not going to be
subsidized (sec 8)? I would assume that could be for mixed income because
if one chose to pay for the whole rent on their own without a subsidy why
would the owner complain and your income would be the determining factor on
how much of the rent you would be responsible for? if anyone knows, what is
the limit for sec 8 properties and how many are already on the listing? 4
properties with 72 units ea would be 288. i thought the limit wasn't too
much more than that. If I am wrong and someone could shed some light it
would be appreciated.
