	CHALMETTE, La. - A woman is in critical condition after she was shot
in the
	face in Chalmette Sunday during a domestic dispute, according to St.
Bernard
	spokesman Steve Cannizaro.
	
	The shooting happened at an apartment building at 301 Plantation Dr.
in the
	old Village Square section of Chalmette around 10:45 a.m.
	
	The woman, a 20-year-old who has not been identified, is in critical
	condition at University Hospital in New Orleans, Cannizaro said.
	
	Police arrested 20-year-old Dedrick Labee II, who is the victim's
boyfriend,
	minutes after the Sheriff's Office received a call, Cannizaro said,
adding
	that he was trying to leave the building at the time. Labee has
since been
	booked with attempted murder.
	
	"[Labee] was still on the scene. Deputies took him into custody
	immediately," said James Pohlman, chief deputy of the St. Bernard
Sheriff's
	Office. "He's currently at the detective bureau being interviewed."
	
	A 12-gauge, single-barrel shotgun was recovered in the apartment,
Cannizaro
	said.
	
	Pohlman said Labee and his girlfriend had been living in the home
together.
	He said he believes the couple used to live in New Orleans East.
