St. Bernard Parish officials honor Madeline Chimento

Chalmette native was the top graduate from Loyola Law School



St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro Jr. and the St. Bernard Parish
Council honored Madeline M. Chimento for finishing as the top graduate from
Loyola University's College of Law on May 15, 2009.

Chimento also graduated summa cum laude and was a Crowe Scholar, having
finished in the top 10 percent of the class. She was a member of the Law
Review in her second year of law school and the following year was appointed
to the Law Review board.



Chimento, daughter of Ronnie and Mary Chimento, grew up in Chalmette and
graduated from Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette in 1995. She graduated
from St. Martin's Episcopal High School in 1999. She attended Rhodes College
in Memphis for two years and then transferred to Loyola University where she
earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from in 2003 with a grade point
average of 3.99. She is presently studying to take the bar in July and has
accepted a position with the law firm of Barrasso, Usdin, Kupperman, Freeman
and Sarver, LLC.



Loyola awarded 259 degrees at its 92nd law school commencement ceremony at
the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
