Youth Advisory Council helps Violet family with home renovations

YAC students serve a local family

 

The Youth Advisory Council, the student leadership for "Fuel," the youth
program started by St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro's Office,
spent a Saturday in early June working on a home in Violet.  Students
painted, textured ceilings and did yard work to help the family get back
into their house.

 

One focus of the Youth Advisory Council is to serve others in the community.
In addition to work days, students also spent time in the fifth grade class
at C.F. Rowley helping students attending Summer School in June. In August,
students will be helping with the Redfish Cup by sponsoring the face
painting booth.

 

The group consisted of part of the YAC and friends, including:  Katelyn
Atkinson, Jordan Calcagno, Jodie Calcagno, Abbey Flaherty, Jordan Hart, Kate
Jennings, Katie Keenan, and Zeke Kiersey.
