NY governor's teenage son taken to police station after ID dispute; asks for
privacy

NEW YORK (AP) - Officials say New York Gov. David Paterson's teenage son was
taken into police custody after he was seen rolling dice near his high
school.

The two officials say police approached 15-year-old Alex Paterson and four
other 15-year-old boys on a Manhattan street Tuesday and asked for
identification. Three boys gave it and were allowed to leave. The officials
say one boy initially refused to give his name and Paterson had a bank card
not bearing his name.

The officials spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity
because the boys are minors.

One says Paterson's son and the other boy were issued juvenile reports for
loitering with the purpose of gambling. The teens don't have to appear in
court and weren't charged criminally.

Is Governor Paterson kidding? He wants "privacy" on this? He is the
highest ranking official in the State of New York, his son was involved in
what would clearly be a crime if your son or mine was involved, that of
having illegal possession of a credit card not bearing his name without
authorization, not to mention "gambling." AND HE WANTS "PRIVACY"?!!!!!!

I can't help but wonder if the New York governor was Republican and white
would the Democrats be so understanding go give privacy.
