St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office narcotics agents seized about $1,600
worth of heroin and $1,900 worth of marijuana in separate arrests this week.

More than a quarter-ounce of heroin in the form of 39 bags was seized in a
Chalmette house Tuesday when a search warrant was executed, the Sheriff's
Office said in a press release. Amir Ismail, 23, and Brittany Strehle, 23,
were both booked with distribution of heroin and possession of 39 bags with
intent to distribute.

The pair had allegedly sold heroin on one occasion and the search warrant
for their residence at 3713 Plaza Drive was obtained from a judge afterward
by narcotics agents, commanded by Col. Chad Clark, the release said.

A third person present in the house, Gregory Henry, 22, of Gallant Street in
Chalmette, was booked with possession of marijuana. Ismail, Strehle and
Henry also were booked with use of a controlled dangerous substance in the
presence of a child.

All three are being held in St. Bernard Parish Prison. Ismail has no bond
because of a probation hold, Strehle is jailed in lieu of $40,000 bond and
Henry in lieu of a $22,500 bond.

In the other case, two brothers were booked Monday with possession with
intent to distribute just under a pound of marijuana, worth about $1,900.

Kenneth Biddle, 54, and Lawrence Biddle, 49, both of 5003 E. St. Bernard
Highway, Apt. 7, Violet, were both booked with possession with intent to
distribute 14 ounces of marijuana, possession of a small amount of crack
cocaine, possession of 12 Soma muscle-relaxers and illegal use of a
controlled dangerous drug in the presence of a juvenile.

A digital scale, a metal grinder and other drug paraphernalia also were
found during a search of the residence.

Both were released Thursday, Kenneth Biddle on a $45,000 bond and Lawrence
Biddle on $47,000 bond.
