Public Service Announcement Early Advising for Spring 2014

Early advising for the Spring, 2014 semester commences Friday, November 1,
2013 at Nunez Community College. Early advising will continue through
November 15th, by appointment only.

According to Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs, Annette
Accomando, "We are encouraging our students to reach out to their advising
faculty during this early advising period to make sure they are selecting
the best classes appropriate for their majors."

"We are doing all we can to ensure that students select courses that best
fulfill the criteria of their major, ensure well-rounded educational
experience, and allow timely matriculation," said Vice Chancellor Accomando,
who voiced concerns about students often eschewing advising and choosing
classes that do not meet their program requirements but unfortunately
consume their financial aid.

Students have been sent emails and postcards with their specific advisors'
names and contact information according to their college majors. Students
can set phone, email, or in-person appointments with advisors during office
hours.

New students should plan to see advisors on campus beginning November 18th
when placement testing and advisors will be available for walk-in service.

The Spring 2014 semester starts January 21, 2014. For more information
