Louisiana State Police are searching for the driver of a late-model,
light-colored Dodge pick-up truck that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run
around 6 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 29).

The incident happened on LA 46 at Madison Street in St. Bernard Parish.

For unknown reasons, the truck traveled onto the shoulder of the road and
struck a woman who was walking on the southbound shoulder. The vehicle then
fled, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

A State Police news release identified the victim as Donna Landry, 54, of
Chalmette.

Troopers were able to gather evidence from the vehicle on the scene and are
searching for the Dodge pick-up.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is urged to contact Louisiana
State Police Troop B at (504) 471-2775.
